Purpose

Growing up, I found that my faith and creative spirit made up a large part of my identity. I found solace and sought refuge in the spaces where I could be authentically, unapologetically myself. Throughout my teen years, I found community with those who also identified with such things. When assigned the task of creating a fictional conference in undergrad, I tapped into this part of my younger self and designed an experience for those also seeking the art within our existence through the lens of faith.

Challenge

How might I create an experience fostering multiple facets of creativity through both physical and digital spaces while intersecting  faith?

Research

Audience Research

I began by assessing the demographic(s) of those who would be in attendance. I wanted to get a sense of their lifestyle, interests, goals, and influences. to understand how to cater directly to them. By conducting interviews with 8 individuals, and asking them what these answers would be for themselves, here are some common answers I received.

Goals:
- continue to grow in faith
- learn new skills
- connect with like-minded people

Interests:
-music
-design
- digital media

Influences:

- peers
- mentors

- social media

Demographic
- average age: 18-35
- either in college or hold
- pursuing a creative career

Lifestyle:

-either in college or working full-time
-active in church community
